For eons, conquering dungeons has been the most efficient way to become a strong adventurer. Although not everything is as straightforward as it seems. Several questions have always plagued the minds of those who enter these mythical places of power: why are there so many monsters? Where do the amazing weaponry and heavy gold coins come from? Why does the very air fill with life-giving energies?
Cal has all of the answers to these age-old questions, for a very simple reason. He is a Dungeon Heart, a soul forced against his will into a magical stone. After several lonely years, Cal was able to regain sentience, allowing him to form new memories while slowly growing a dungeon around himself. With help from a friend, Cal learned how to create monsters and traps, increasing his power and size quickly.
When a threat to his existence rears its head, Cal decides that he will do anything to stay alive and become stronger. Unfortunately for treasure-seekers, the fastest way for Cal to achieve his goal…is to eat anyone that enters his depths.

Whackbag, thanks for the torrent. You have provided many of this genre, of which I am enjoying immensely. The following does not apply to you or anything you have done, but upon the author. I do, however look forward to more of this genre.
This book , so far, is fairly well written/spoken, and approached the story from an unique direction, but I find it a terrible story. I have listened to about a quarter of it and, sorry to say, I can not continue as it is banal and stupid.

I too was somewhat put off by the begining. The author needed to add some action for those of us with short attention spans or at least speed it up. So I sped it up on my own to 2.5x speed for the first quarter. That helped immensely and the dungeon sort of ‘grew’ on me (inside book pun). The other 3/4 ended up being really good, I’m glad I pushed through, especially since this is a series and the next book shouldn’t have the same problem. You seriously can skip the first 2.5 hours after 5 minutes in up to at least chapter 8.

wow. This is so much better than the russian LitRPGs, unique and the magic is unbelievably complex and yet easy to follow. can’t wait for the next book !!

Enjoyed this book, really didnt mind the somewhat slower story buildup as it added to the worldbuilding with tidbits on for example the magic system.

This is by far one of my favorites. Screw ya’ll for having small attention spans. The mechanics, the multiple view points. PERFECT and that ending just opens up so many new situations for book 2. HOPE IT COMES OUT SOON!

I don’t know if I would be able to stand listening to this.. The sample gaah.. Narrator really kills it.
I would have to get the text version if the sample narration is consistent throughout.

The book starts with an arc which is immediately erased, removing any possible motivation for the main character. Even more, it basically erases the main character. Then it starts anew, with a boring and uninspiring setup, for which I don’t care in a slightest. And continues it with boring world building. Naturally, I have lost the interest in the book before it had even started in earnest. It’s bate-and-switch. I have no interest in this book. Better luck to the next reader/listener, I guess.
