Acclaimed and bestselling author Robin Hobb continues her Fitz and the Fool trilogy with this second entry, following Fool’s Assassin, ramping up the tension and the intrigue as disaster continues to strike at Fitz’s life and heart.
After nearly killing his oldest friend, the Fool, and finding his daughter stolen away by those who were once targeting the Fool, FitzChivarly Farseer is out for blood. And who better to wreak havoc than a highly trained and deadly former royal assassin? Fitz might have let his skills go fallow over his years of peace, but such things, once learned, are not so easily forgotten. And nothing is more dangerous than a man who has nothing left to lose

Love Robin Hobb but the narrator of last 2 books makes fitz sound like the most depressed person in the world in every conversation. He is like a completely different person from first 6 books. At first I thought it was a change of direction from Hobb but have come to realise its the tone of every sentence

Thank you so much! I can’t afford anything non-essential at this stage in my life. :( I’ll buy this in a few years.

Hey,
I’m only getting the first portion of the 33 hours in the torrent - is there more to come, like with the first one?
Does anyone else have this issue??

Excellent book. I particularly like the narrator Elliot Hill. His depressing tone is so fitting for Fitz’s depressing life. Can’t wait till July 2016 for the final book!

I love these books but this narrator is not suited to this story and is doing weird things with the characters. All of a sudden tge Fool has a German accent. A German accent he did not have in the last book this dude narrated. What the hell man?!
Also what happened to the woman who read Bee in the last book. She was actually good. These characters deserve better.
Great story, but I’m going to read it in the traditional way I think.

Elliot Hill sounds like he needs to clear the phlegm from his throat through out most of the books and the whispered skill conversations are just painful to listen to. I am saddened Paul Boehmer from the first three Farseer trilogies or even Jack Fox from the Tawny man trilogies, whom I disliked for his very dry/boring reading, was not hired again. Very disappointing audio books if my opinion has any merit. I’d rather read my copy in my mental monotone than shudder my way through Elliot Hill’s rendering ever again.
