Without sunlight, clean water, or arable land, and with limited stockpiles of supplies, there will be war all across the Stillness: a battle royale of nations not for power or territory, but simply for the basic resources necessary to get through the long dark night. Essun does not care if the world falls apart around her. She’ll break it herself, if she must, to save her daughter.

Very good audio quality. Narration by Robin Miles is perfect as always.
However, I hated this book. Generic high fantasy jargon and tedious episodic plot which only serves as a leadup to a cliffhanger so you have to read the next book to find out what happens. Ham-fisted symbolism and shoehorned-in diversity, with bonus gratuitous violence. Basic and uninteresting writing. I had to put it on 2x speed to get through it. 1/5.
