A few months ago I regulated myself to focusing on various anthologies and Analog/Asimov’s magazines. The collection was on the horizon, but when I was going to do it was nebulous. Every now and again I go through an obsessive streak and one day I switched focus to Le Guin. All told, it took about a month and a half to record all NLS books available. While that was going on in the background I downloaded all I could find and sorted through the various rips other people put out on the internet from Audible, RNIB, CDs, tape and even an LP. Then I mined for the various anthologies that featured her work. I had a bunch already and then I searched for the ones I didn’t have. Luckily there was only one anthology and one collection I had to purchase myself. While trying to find better rips of certain books I stumbled upon someone who had a ton of RNIB rips, and not just of Le Guin. There were a few books that I couldn’t get because if region locks but it’s not so big of a deal since I have at least one other narration in those cases. I added the soundtrack that was originally sold with Always Coming Home and even tracked down artwork for the book since it seemed important. I thought about hunting the art for the other books but I feel like I did enough.
I’ll probably go back to working on the magazines and anthologies for the time being. We shall see if I don’t get hit with the need to mainline another author..
