In all honesty, I love pretty much everything Molly Harper has ever written. She doesn’t put pen to paper without something funny and witty resulting. This book is no exception.
Better Homes and Hauntings is a stand-alone paranormal romance novel but has the same snarky humor I’ve come to expect from her other series. The novel’s protagonist, Nina Linden, is one of several people hired to renovate the run-down estate of young software magnate, Deacon. The estate is rumored to be haunted and Nina has certainly experienced some unusual occurrences. Hijinks ensue as Deacon and Nina attempt to restore the property and avoid what increasingly seems to be a hostile haunting.
In this book, as with her others, Harper creates lovable characters, funny sidekicks, and a happy little romance. While it can be a bit cheesy at times and is not going to re-invent the genre, it is yet another solid novel from an author that makes my auto-read list. It just makes me happy and that’s ok!
